We welcome artists Hallee Jo and Bree Sykes displaying their visual works on Friday and Saturday, and drag queen Herra Winn leads a drag show on Saturday at 9pm.
Hallee Jo has lived in Champaign since 2018 and is an elementary school art teacher at a local school. Hallee grew up in an art studio in a smaller Illinois town and has been creating her whole life. She will be showing a few acrylic paintings and some pen and paper work as well as a mural piece that’s a part of the venue. Prints and stickers will be available as well. Her style is inspired by exploration of colors and attention to eccentric details of life. Hallee will be in person at The Space on 4/4 from 5-7:30 and 4/5 from 12:00-2:00 for print and sticker availability!
Bree Sykes is a Mixed media artist based in Champaign IL, known for creating vibrant self portraits that explore different chapters of her life through abstract and surrealist expression. Acrylic , color pencil, water color, ink and spray paint are all mediums that she enjoys intertwining in her art. Her style ranges with her ever changing mood allowing for dynamic and personal expression in every piece. Although her style has a wide range, her use of bold colors radiates thought all of her pieces. Bree will be showcasing her acrylic self portraits, mixed media pieces with themes of nature and the human body as well as her cute cartoon watercolor art at the Space downtown Champaign. She will be on site April 4-6 from the afternoon to late evening to discuss.
