This Is Where We Begin
Large-scale fiber art, photography, and sculptural printmaking reflect and develop the relationships between people and environment.
With fiber techniques drawn from the ancient craft of basketry, Ann Coddington interweaves fibers to create sculptural expressions of haptic, embodied experiences. Photography as a journey into the unseen, the overlooked, and the ephemeral, Phillip Kalantzis Cope is drawn to the interactions between people and their environments, and the subtle, often unspoken narratives that shape our lives. Through an intimate practice of layering, Crystal Hartman sculpts through multi-media drawing and metal smithing to create process-based experiences of our shared relationships with environment. Fascinated with the world from above, K. Hieronymus W. pushes the boundaries of Printmaking to share the unrecognized beauty in every detail of the land.
