I was born in Hiroshima, Japan and had many opportunities to experience and appreciate various kinds of art. Known as the “world peace city,” Hiroshima has a way of inspiring artists. I grew up with an art-loving mother who took me to numerous art exhibitions, music concerts and traditional Japanese cultural events.

My passion for watercolor derives from the desire to bring peace to the world. Watercolor allows me to pay attention to the every day mundane things in life. Taking a moment to pause—appreciating the flowers, plants and trees—my paintings express various human experiences and philosophies. The way the water and ink come together exemplify the nature of life. Every mark, every emotions, every mistake is shown through the transparency of the color.

Some people say my paintings have a “nostalgic,” “scenic,” or “peaceful.” feeling. It would be an honor if my paintings brought”peace” to your heart.
