About my work
I create multimedia illustrations and sculptures that bring both mythical and real creatures to life, blending elements of fantasy with the natural world. My work is inspired by European folklore, classic Dungeons & Dragons, and the beauty of local plants and animals. Using a variety of materials and techniques, I aim to evoke a sense of mystery and wonder, inviting viewers to explore a world where the familiar and the fantastical exist side by side in harmony. Through my art, I seek to spark curiosity and transport people to a place where imagination and nature intertwine.
About me
I hold a Master of Arts degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, specializing in ceramics and drawing, as well as a certificate in Digital Illustration. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—horticulturist, graphic design instructor, and freelance illustrator—but my current role as Supervisor of a vibrant Ceramics Program is where I find my greatest fulfillment.
Bewitching Bestiary is the culmination of my creative passions, a personal project where I merge the fantastical with the familiar through multimedia sculptures and illustrations. I share my work with others at art shows across central Illinois, where I connect with fellow artists and collectors alike.
I live in Champaign, Illinois, with my supportive husband, a near-sighted cat, two rescue mutts, and four crested geckos. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me tending to my garden, diving into RPG video games, lost in a good book, or wandering the wilderness. I especially enjoy relaxing on my back porch with a cup of coffee, soaking in the beauty of my gardens and the visiting wildlife.
