Julie Birdwell
Working in clay is, for me, both homecoming and adventure. Its familiar moldability offers continual paths for exploration and creativity. This series of work in ceramics and mixed media takes familiar, iconic images and recontextualizes them to express emotion and provide critique. I hope the viewer can at least savor, if not feast on these images. Bon Appetit!
