David Smith

I traveled around the world, and everywhere I found inspiration for painting. My friends and extended family provided me with wonderful beaches, fabulous gardens, and views both urban and rural. My works span still life, landscape and cityscape. I am drawn to the horizon.

I received a degree in Graphic Arts from Purdue in 1968 and worked as Assisstant Art Director for Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood in Pittsburgh for several years before moving here to Champaign to take the job of Art Director at WILL. After traveling the world in the 1980’s I returned to Champaign to settle in.
