Claire Daly

Claire lives and works in Urbana, Illinois where she is a photographer for the Champaign Urbana Ballet, operates her vintage clothing business, Mojo Retro, and prepares houses for estate sales. Photographically, she likes to explore other people’s homes and finds parallels between the houses through the things that have been left behind. Her work deals with themes of mortality, hauntology and residual energy, and the stories and folklore that are attached to objects. Since 2020, she has been photographing scenes of her day-to-day, along with collaborative efforts from her family. She primarily shoots with a large-format camera for its lack of speed but also fantasizes about creating installations when she feels the photo falls flat, literally.
