Featuring paintings by Nicole Anderson Cobb and the paintings & art created with her dear friend and collaborator, Earline Rae Ferguson in a show entitled: “Sistahs Painting Our Transformation Together (S.P.O.T. T.)”
Nicole Anderson Cobb is a playwright, researcher & painter that uses watercolor, collage, dried plants and found objects as her preferred mediums to express the following interests: contemplation, meditation & prayer; still-life & nature-inspired paintings; voting & 2024 elections; African American fraternities & sororities; the Gaza-Israel War; gun violence; American politics and abstract paintings. Her work “Somewhere In Gaza, #1” was recently featured as a part of the 2024 Women of Color Advancing Peace & Security Art Forum in Atlanta Georgia (October 2024): https://www.wcaps.org/artforumprogram
E. Rae Ferguson is an Associate Professor Emerita of History at the University of Rhode Island, a former postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign, life-long yoga and meditation practitioner, and more recently a watercolorist. Her paintings express her heart’s inspiration and she hopes they help people who view them to embrace and align with the innate joy, passion, and peace in their hearts.
During this exhibition, Anderson- Cobb will display her paintings, discuss her painting process with visitors and sell paintings to those interested in purchasing them.
Anderson-Cobb will also offer a space for visitors to have short (15-20 min) contemplation, journaling and reflection experiences.
