The Champaign County Forest Preserves hosted a photo contest to highlight the natural beauty of the preserves.
Participants submitted stunning images capturing landscapes, close-ups of plants, insects, birds, and wildlife, as well as breathtaking seasonal scenes and vibrant moments of outdoor recreation. The Museum of the Grand Prairie is unveiling a stunning mural in their sensory-friendly visitor space! Meet the muralist behind the magic at this opening reception.
acme.nadir is a local artist from the area. They first got into painting through skateboarding/graffiti. Over the years they’ve enjoyed experimenting with different mediums and styles, their favorites being spray paint and acrylics. Over the last two years they’ve been focusing heavy on mural and canvas work. Art has played a huge role in their life and their identity as a person, as well as helped them greatly on their mental health journey. They find a lot of their inspiration from nature, music and meeting people who are passionate about what they do.
The artist will have pieces created on tree slices available for purchase. All proceeds will be invested into inclusion initiatives to welcome and encourage all visitors to enjoy the museum.
