Alfonso Valdes

Born in Havana, Cuba, Alfonso lived in New Orleans through high school then moved to California for college and much of his career. He was recruited to the Grainger College of Engineering at UI, from which he retired in 2022. Since retiring, he has dedicated more time to his art, and for Boneyard is showing mostly small works on paper based on seasonal and still life themes. He works in dry media, photography, and occasionally oils and watercolors. Alfonso is also an avid musician, plays guitar, ukelele, mandolin, and most recently Renaissance lute.

The Gilbert Gallery There are 42 artists represented for the festival. Artists will be painting and drawing outdoors; artists will be painting, printing, working with mosaics and more indoors both days.
