Alfonso Valdes

Born in Havana, Cuba, Alfonso lived in New Orleans through high school. He attended college and worked in IT research in California until he was recruited to the University of Illinois Grainger College of Engineering. Since his retirement in 2022, Alfonso has dedicated more time to his art, presenting for the Boneyard Festival a number of works on paper. Most of his recent work is in dry media, but he has also worked in oils and photography. Alfonso is also an avid musician, recently playing the Renaissance lute.
