Alexandra Barbier is a multifaceted artist who engages dance, performance art, theatre, creative non-fiction, and visual art to explore themes within Blackness, queerness, and Southern-ness. Her works are often whimsical and humorous while also inspiring critical thought and social/cultural commentary and inquiry. She is an Assistant Professor in the Dance Department of University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
