Nick Cragoe
Nick is a designer, illustrator, and painter specializing in ancient Celtic and Norse styles. He’s never received formal training or pursued a full-time art career, but his spare moments have always been filled with creative pursuits. Most of his work involves extreme detail and precision, though he’s also produced a tarot deck and other art employing a more minimalistic, textured style reminiscent of stained glass. Common themes threading throughout his work include tradition, storytelling, mythology, and nature, as well as humor, irony, and self-deprecation. He produces drawings and paintings, as well as traditional longbows and the occasional wood carving.
By day, Nick is a postdoctoral researcher with the IKIDS program at the University of Illinois studying toxic chemical exposure and infant neurodevelopment. He lives with his wife and three incredibly goofy kids in Champaign.
