Lydia Puddicombe
Lydia Puddicombe is a mixed media illustrator living and working in Urbana, IL. When not creating, she spends her time wandering her gardens pondering the lives and afterlives of her companions (both real and imaginary) including plants, animals, household appliances, and spirits. Much of her imagery and storytelling is informed by a childhood spent in a rural setting and by the folklore of her family. Lydia’s wood-carved illustrations iterate on themes of life, death, portents, and folk wisdom (among others) and reflect her connections to the world around her.
