Celebrate the 20th Annual Festival of Quilts at the Cunningham Children’s Home!
Enjoy the more than 200 beautiful quilts from hundreds of quilt artists throughout Illinois, on display and for purchase. Each quilt has its own story and creatively blurs the lines between conventional quilt making and fine art.
Since 1895, Quilters from across Illinois have made quilts for our Cunningham youth. While they rarely know who the recipients of their quilts will be, they do know what the quilts represent: the warmth, safety and love our youth find at Cunningham. We honor this tradition through the Festival of Quilts, our signature fundraiser, and the proceeds help us meet the critical needs of the 846 youth, adults and families we serve each year through our residential, special education and community-based services.
The Festival attracts hundreds of visitors and raises thousands of dollars to help bring hope to the youth and families Cunningham serves. For a suggested donation of $10 for admission, the Festival features something for everyone:
QUILT SHOW with hand and machine quilted pieces including contemporary designs as well as antique quilts on loan for display and admiration
QUILT SALE featuring beautiful traditional and contemporary quilts and wall hangings
CENTERPIECES & SUCH with unique and decorative items our supporters have decorated, enhanced and “made their own” available for purchase
GIFT SHOP packed with generously donated handcrafted items
BAKE SALE with delicious homemade goodies and treats
CAMPUS TOURS of Cunningham’s Urbana campus to learn more about the mission and ministry of Cunningham Children’s Home We celebrate a tradition that offers warmth, comfort, and hope to the youth at Cunningham.
Pictured quilt is “Triangle Tango” which was pieced by the Quilters Overboard Art Quilt Group and quilted by Diane Winder. It has been shown at The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show, the Midwest Heritage Quilt Show and the 2022 Illini Country Stitchers Quilt Show where it won a 2nd Place Ribbon! The Festival of Quilts will be its final show as it will be available for sale and can move on to its next home!
Suggested donation of $10 for admission for adults. Children 12 years old and younger are free.
Guests are welcome to be dropped off at the front doors with easy accessibility for all. Golf cart transportation is also available from parking lots to the main event building.
