Description of Work

This collection of work examines the phenomenology of light. By pulling inspiration from solar eclipses and diffractions of light, material was explored to create various approaches to the subject matter. Many of the pieces combine painting, electronics, and sculpture while using various reflective surfaces to add depth and time to each piece. The work depends upon this time-bound and reflective quality to engage the viewer, making them a part of the piece or demanding their visual-spatial attention. The work pulls into question how we see the unseen in a new light.

Artist Statement

I specialize in painting, but also explore other areas in new media such as installation work, video, and electronics. My work explores various ways of examining oneself. There are often psychological or spiritual undertones expressed through the work.
