Raquel Altman

I’m a Sophomore at UIUC, currently working towards an illustration major. My work is influenced by my Jewish identity, specifically pulling from being raised as first generation from a Soviet Jewish family. Trying to imbed my culture into my work, seeking to connect to my community and others. I often reference music I grew up hearing, often klezmer and other Jewish songs. As well as doing research to make historically grounded works of arts.
