Utter chaos is everywhere these days. We are steeped in it. It is inescapable.

Absurdism, Surrealism, and Dadaism are powerful tools for assessing the world around us to enable us to see it differently. They provide a lens through which our grim reality can be unmasked and critiqued in a more palatable and humorous way.

These art movements deprive reality of it’s stranglehold on our understanding.

I embrace them to laugh loudly into the void.

Matthew Currey is a digital artist, fencing instructor, crafter, leatherworker, and storyteller. He loves working with his hands and mind to create something from nothing. If making the world a better place is out of reach, he will at least use his talents and skills to make his immediate surroundings more amusing.
