Mary Emmons has recently studied at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library in La Jolla California. This art represents the Fauvism movement that was popular after the impressionist era. According to Wikipedia, “the paintings of the Fauves were characterized by seemingly wild brush work and strident colors, while their subject matter had a high degree of simplification and abstraction.
The proceeds from the sale of this artwork will be donated the Eastern Illinois Food bank with a matching donation from the artist.
