    Lisa Connery

    Bio:

Crass Stitching is needlework for terrible people made in right here in Urbana. Lisa Connery, the creator, makes inappropriate needlework for the home. She takes vintage patterns and puts a rude spin to them, she also creates and stitches designs with a focus on nerd and popular culture with some political commentary sprinkled in. She has taught several cross stitch classes and enjoys sharing her love for the craft (and the absurd) with others. Her favorite way to describe her craft is “Embroidery like Grandma used to make (if Grandma was drunk on whiskey).”

She is always up to teach or make custom pieces or patterns. She is especially passionate about using her skills and her art to help others. Lisa has lived in CU for nearly 20 years and is happiest at home, stitching, with her husband, their dogs and cat, and a unique collection of offbeat taxidermy and mannequin parts.

The best way to see her work or contact her is through her Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/fancyworkforjerks/) or her Instagram (katina_vonbeaverhausen).
