Emily Alley

Crocheting and fiber arts have always been the biggest part of my heart. I taught art for 15 years in the public school system I became to love all forms of art. For many years I dabbled in them all, but fibers always played a part. After my traumatic brain injury, I had to leave my career and decided to pursue art full time. It was my greatest healer and my silver lining. I moved to western North Carolina and found a beautiful community of artists who inspired and challenged me. Fibers became the forefront of my creations- using them to create a lone or mixed media work. Now back in Illinois I find myself again surrounded by an artistic community who will continue to inspire me to push myself even further.
