Samuel Herndon
I’m a formally trained photographer and videographer born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I hold a BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. While still a student, my work was recognized in a gallery show, which led to two years as a first assistant and marked the beginning of my immersion in the Bay Area production scene.
After graduating, I joined acclaimed creative agency Bonfire Labs full-time, producing photo and video content for major tech brands worldwide. Working alongside producers, art directors, and designers, I delivered industry-standard work on tight timelines and developed a deep understanding of client relationships and creative collaboration.
I later moved back to Los Angeles to work with legendary portrait photographer Douglas Kirkland, contributing to work featured on the covers of internationally recognized fashion magazines. I also collaborated with comedian Jeff Garlin, organizing and editing his photography archive and curating his first solo exhibition at the Leica Gallery in Beverly Hills.
Today, I create photography and video for product, advertising, and the University of Illinois. In 2024, I earned my barber certification and currently cut hair at Midwest Barber Company in Champaign, IL. Whether behind a camera or behind the chair, I deliver polished, professional work with precision and care.
